To infinity and beyond.....

With a nice strong wind blowing, we decided to attempt flying the Buzz Lightyear kite Bo received for his birthday.  I had spent a good chunk of the day assembling this lovely creation and following the garbled instructions the best I could (I still think I did it right).  The kids excitedly gathered outside, and the kite flying began, sort of.....

After many attempts, most of which looked like this.....

We finally got a glimpse of potential......

And what a fleeting glimpse it was......Buzz immediately nose dived - full throttle....aimed directly at Gavin's head!

It was a narrow escape.

The kids persevered, trying many different methods until finally Buzz landed smack in the middle of a large mud puddle.  (Begin theme song: I Will Go Sailing No More...)

Sorry Buzz, it looks like Woody was right....YOU CAN'T FLY!
