Shoes...

During one of my typical, crazy days of running kids here and there - enduring my new found career in taxi driving - I finally made my way to my last stop, the grocery store.  Unfortunately, I soon realized that I had NO SHOES!  How this happened, I'm not sure.  Although, those who know me well know that I am often running around without shoes on - but not at the grocery store!  Determined that I was not going to drive all the way home for a measly pair of shoes, I thoroughly combed the car in search of any shoes at all.  With as much stuff as there usually is in our van, I was sure I could find something. There was one pair of shoes in the car - My six year old son's soccer cleats!

Not too bad from this angle, right?
From this angle , however......
Can you see why my feet were KILLING me by the time I was done shopping?   Lesson learned......painfully!

San Fran Girl's Trip!

What a wonderful few days!  We (all the girls in the family - minus two sister-in-laws, who were dearly missed) left the men in charge and headed down to SF for a few blissful days.  We laughed a lot, cried a little, and ate way too much (yum)!  We rode the cable cars, shopped, saw Wicked, and loved every minute of it!  How did I get so lucky to have such wonderful ladies in my life?

Eating.........
still eating......

Fun on the Cable Cars!

Enjoying the sights and smells!

Our favorite part of the trip!

St. Patty's Day woes!

A few weeks ago, Bo came home from pre-school visibly worried.  He brought me his calendar and said, "Mom, on this day (pointing to March 17th) I have to wear green, or else everybody will PUNCH  ME!"
I explained that he might get pinched, not punched, and that seemed to calmed his worries (a little).  However, I noticed that several times over the next couple weeks, he would go into his room and change into something green - just in case.  We are now one week past St. Patrick's Day, and he is still favoring green!  Gotta love that boy!

Vegas, baby!

For Christmas last year, Grandma Cox gave the kids tickets to Lion King in Las Vegas.  We all went down over Spring Break and spent a couple of days there.  Vegas can be a little crazy, but we found some kid friendly places and it turned out to be a great getaway!   The kids LOVED Lion King - what amazing costumes!  Thanks Grandma!

The next day we went to the Shark Reef Aquarium.  It is so great to have a nice aquarium only 1 1/2 hour away!  The kids could have stayed all day and watched the sharks, turtles, jellyfish, and so many other great sea animals!

What good big brothers!

They even got to touch them! Slimy!

Personally, I loved the Jellyfish!

Kim, Taly, and Grandma taking a rest.

The glass tunnel with all the creatures swimming around us was a favorite!

What fun!

Science Fair

Cort decided to enter the Science Fair this year. After we talked through several options, he decided to compare a few different detergents to see which one would clean muddy sock the best. In order to muddy up enough socks, he enlisted the help of his siblings. Needless to say, they were very happy to join in!

He did a great job and worked hard to get his project done. He discovered that between All, Kirkland (Costco), and Tide, it was Tide that did the very best job! Good job Cort!

Ethel M Chocolate Factory

Last week my Mom and I took the kids to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Las Vegas after dropping Skyler off at the airport. The kids enjoyed walking through the factory and the cactus garden outside. But of course the best part was the free chocolate sample...Yum!

Happy Birthday Cort!

Cort turned 11 on February 19! I can't believe how fast time goes by - Happy Birthday Cort!

Taly's Trip

When each of our children turn 8, Skyler and I take them on a little 4 day cruise out of LA. This time it was Taly's turn! We went the last week of January. It was great to just have some one on one time with my girl!

Hawaii

I'm going to back track a little and add in a few pictures from our trip to Hawaii in November. We went to Oahu for about two weeks. The house we stayed in was right by the ocean, and the kids loved every minute of it! Taly was baptized in the ocean, which made the trip extra special. It was by far our favorite vacation yet.
